Once you have registered for an account, you will be able to sell items through the site. If you wish the buyer to pay you using a direct payment method (such as PayPal) you must first update your member profile with your direct payment details.
LOGIN to your members area and go to 'Manage Account' in the 'My Account' section. Here you can enter your direct payment details in the section headed ‘Direct Payment Settings’. For example, enter your PayPal e-mail address. By entering your direct payment details here will enable these direct payment methods to be selected in your auction listing.
To sell an item click on the “SELL” link at the top of the page. If you are not already logged on to the system, you will be asked to log on using the username and password you specified during registration. You will then be taken to the auction set-up screens.
Firstly you must select a category and sub-categories for your item. You must keep selecting lower level sub-categories until no more are available. You will then be able to proceed to the next screen by clicking ‘Next Step’. You will then be given the option of listing your item in a second category. This can increase the chances of selling your item. If you do not wish to choose a second category, click the next step link. You will then be able to enter your item details.
Select ‘Full Listing’, and type your item name, and your item description. Please make the item description as informative and accurate as possible. Please describe whether the item has any damage or flaws. You should also specify whether the item is new or second hand.
Click the ‘Next Step’ button at the bottom of the page, and you will be taken to the Auction Settings screen. Here you can select the auction type, the starting price, the reserve and other auction options. Some extra auction listing features incur a small fee. These extra fees are listed clearly next to the feature. If you want a free listing don’t select any extra chargeable options. You can specify a ‘buy now’ option and price, if you want bidders to be able to immediately buy your items.
You are allowed to upload upto 4 pictures for your item. Click on the ‘Browse’ button to browse your computer for the image you wish to upload. The image can not be any larger than 100KB. If your image is larger than this you must re-save it as a smaller file using your regular photo editing software. Once you have selected the required options, and uploaded a picture(s) you can press the ‘Next Step’ button at the bottom of the page.
You will then be taken to the Shipping & Payment screen. Here you can specify who pays for shipping and how you want the buyer to pay you. There are a number of ‘Direct Payment’ options listed. If you have enabled direct payment methods in your member profile (details section) you will be able to select one or more of these. If you also allow other non-direct payment methods, such as cheques, postal orders etc. please select these as well. On this screen you can list the postage and insurance costs applicable, and shipping and payment details.
Under the section ‘Auction Fees’, if you selected any extra chargeable options the fees for these will be listed. If it is a free listing the set-up fee will be shown as 0.00. You will then be taken to an auction preview screen, which will confirm the details of your auction listing. If you need to change anything click the ‘Previous Step’ button. If everything is OK, click the ‘Submit’ button ONCE to submit your auction listing.
